Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality nursing care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. This role requires supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees within the team dynamic.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to inform individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team to set goals related to diagnoses.
• Provide timely patient information for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences to ensure continuity of care.
• Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program by utilizing the nursing process for direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to relevant care providers to maintain safety and continuity.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective team collaboration.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning through calm direction and motivation of staff, patients, and families.
• Maintain effective communication with management concerning service needs, equipment, and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibility as required and participate in team-building activities.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for designated units).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience preferred.

Schedule

This is a Night Shift position, working 3x12-hour shifts per week.
