Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12.0

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe and efficient work environment focused on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, creating individualized plans of care.
• Identify patient and family education needs and set relevant goals.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and utilize the nursing process effectively.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching starting at admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to nursing staff and ancillary personnel.
• Ensure safety of both patients and the work environment by adhering to policies and procedures.
• Engage in team building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after an orientation period.
• Commit to ongoing professional development through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is required.
• Previous experience with Select Medical is highly desired.

Schedule

This position is scheduled for night shifts, working 3x12-hour shifts per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
