Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-hour Night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. The position requires working every other weekend and holiday shifts as needed. Travelers may also be subject to float across all assigned facilities.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care in the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit, primarily focusing on observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical and surgical diagnoses, palliative care, hospice patients, psychiatric observation, and diabetes-related complications. The candidate will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing patient care as per established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning
• Manage and maintain intravenous lines and access
• Perform EKGs and interpret results, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical or Telemetry setting
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale certification recommended
