Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Nights
Job Description
This is a 13-week contract position for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working night shifts. The role involves providing quality nursing care to residents, administering medications, and coordinating nursing services within a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and facility policies.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during resident examinations and treatments.
- Monitor resident conditions and notify supervising staff of any significant changes.
- Take vital signs including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure to assess resident's health.
- Coordinate nursing services on the resident unit to ensure compliance with care plans.
- Document admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports in accordance with facility policies.
- Evaluate nursing activities to ensure the effectiveness of resident care.
- Participate in the care plan process and complete nursing assessments in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and comfort standards in resident rooms and common areas.
- Ensure compliance with Resident's Rights and report any incidents or complaints promptly.
Schedule
The shift is scheduled from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a guarantee of 36 or 48 hours per week. Must be willing to float to various units as necessary.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care (LTC) or skilled nursing facility (SNF) settings.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.
- Completed at least one successful travel assignment as an LPN.
- Active LPN license in Michigan.
- COVID vaccination (or willingness to wear a mask if declining).
- Ability to provide two supervisory references from past employment within the last two years.
