Nursing Assistant - Night Shift

Job Description

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant performs routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided. The role emphasizes patient and employee safety while adhering to the company’s core values and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient and employee safety, focusing on safe patient handling, materials handling, and infection control.
• Assist patients in menu selections compliant with prescribed diets, including food allergies and preferences.
• Update and validate patient diet changes in the patient menu system and ensure compliance with current diet orders.
• Provide clerical support in the Food & Nutrition office, including answering phones, faxing, filing, and maintaining organization.
• Communicate patient care and food service issues efficiently to the relevant department.
• Attend in-services and departmental meetings as needed.
• Assist trayline, food service aides, or catering as necessary and perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• BLS certification is required (CIRH only - unless required by state).

Schedule

This position operates on a night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
