Long Term Care RN Supervisor

Job Description

The Long Term Care RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing activities within the long term care unit, providing care for patients requiring extended nursing support. This position entails administering medication, ensuring accurate medical records, and supervising a nursing team in a dynamic care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and de-escalate situations effectively, particularly during staffing changes.
• Conduct rounding and assess all residents, particularly those with changes in condition.
• Manage admissions and discharges, handling an average of up to 4 admissions per day.
• Initiate IV fluids and perform phlebotomy as required.
• Set assignments for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs on the unit and oversee nursing workflows.
• Report accidents and incidents in accordance with facility guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a supervisory nursing role.
• Long term care experience is essential.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Active NY State RN License.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a 7 PM to 7:30 AM shift, requiring every other weekend and holiday availability. A total of 36 or 48 hours per week is expected. Note that no scheduling requests can be accommodated.
