Full Time Evenings (3pm-11:30pm), every other weekend and holidays required.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to various nursing units. Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the Nursing Department's activities consistent with the philosophy of nursing in compliance with established policies, procedures, standards, and regulations. Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems.
• Collaborate with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems.
• Contact Director of Nursing on off hours for only critical issues requiring resolution.
• Make sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC during off-shift/weekends.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure.
• Minimum of one (1) year long-term care (LTC) experience.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• BLS Certification (through AHA or RQI only).
