7:00 PM - 7:30 AM with weekend and holiday shifts as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides critical care to patients requiring constant monitoring and support. The RN will manage patients with various conditions, including those with external ventricular drains (EVD) and multiple medication drips. Knowledge of trauma patient care and competency in assessment tools such as CAM, CPOT, and RASS is essential. Familiarity with Allscript EMR and adherence to strict isolation precautions are also necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
• Perform and document patient assessments utilizing relevant assessment tools.
• Administer medications and manage multiple IV fluid drips appropriately.
• Float to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) as needed.
• Ensure strict compliance with infection control measures.

Required Experience

Minimum of 3 years of ICU nursing experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current New York State RN License
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required.
• CCRN and TNCC certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
