Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Please note that block scheduling is never promised or guaranteed.

Job Description

The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ICU features a total of 42 beds with various patient diagnoses including but not limited to neuro, surgical, and trauma cases.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and respond to any changes in status.
• Administer medications, manage intravenous therapy, and perform nursing procedures.
• Utilize advanced equipment such as CRRT (PRISMA or NxStage), Ventriculostomy, and ICP monitoring.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Floating to all units except Behavioral and ER as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; 4-5 years preferred.
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Active RN license in New York and all active licenses verified through NURSYS.
• Documented travel experience is mandatory.
• Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex is required.
• Heart experience is highly preferred.
• Skills checklist matching specialty required.
