Schedule/Shift
The position requires two shifts a week, usually grouped on weekends and holidays. Night shifts are from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Job Description
As a Registered Nurse in the Family Birthing Center, you will independently assess and evaluate the health status of labor and neonate patients. You will collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to establish care plans, set goals, and deliver effective interventions, including education and counseling. You'll also be responsible for maintaining a safe and effective care environment and serving as a patient advocate.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and monitor responses during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.
- Educate mothers on wellness during pregnancy and after delivery, including infant care.
- Document events and education in patient medical records.
- Communicate patient conditions to physicians and nursing supervisors.
- Assist with medical procedures and collaborate with nursery staff in care of mother/baby couplets.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all patients.
- Float to other nursing units as needed to assist during emergencies.
Required Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in nursing is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
- BLS and NRP certifications are required; PALS certification is preferred.
