Schedule/Shift

This position includes rotating weekend on-call duties with specific hours: Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Saturday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Weekend work is required but not block scheduling.

Job Description

As a Sterile Processing Tech, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of sterilization procedures and ensuring that surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, assembled, and sterilized. You will collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient patient care and the readiness of surgical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with high-level disinfection and sterilization guidelines.
• Document sterilization processes and maintain accurate records.
• Utilize washers and sterilizers effectively while adhering to proper selection and wrapping procedures for equipment.
• Collaborate closely with surgical staff to ensure availability of necessary instruments for procedures.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Sterile Processing.
• Previous charge experience is not required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA is required.
• A valid compact state license must be in hand at submission.
