5 Days/5 Nights, 12-hour shifts, must work weekends and holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be a key member of the Observation Unit team, working with adult patients who meet observation status criteria. The nurse will provide high-quality, compassionate care, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients in the Observation Unit, ensuring adherence to all health and safety protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families about health management and wellness strategies.
• Document all patient interactions and care accurately in the electronic health record (Cerner).
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Float to Medical/Cardiac/Neuro-Ortho Units as needed.

Required Experience

Minimum of 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience required; telemetry experience preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale Competency.
• Telemetry/ECG Competency.
• Optional: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
