This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

7p - 7a. Must be willing to float as needed to various units, including Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, PACU, Cardiac PACU, CCU, Med/Surg Step Down, Neurovascular Step Down, and Cardiac Step Down. Requires every other weekend and one winter and one summer holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for critically ill patients across the lifespan. The RN will be responsible for delivering competent nursing care, maintaining accurate documentation, providing patient education, and demonstrating professionalism in the clinical setting. The RN will also be expected to adhere to safety protocols and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments across all age groups.
• Deliver direct patient care adhering to unit protocols and quality standards.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient care and progress.
• Demonstrate knowledge of policies, procedures, and patient safety goals.
• Respond to patients and families in a professional and courteous manner.
• Participate in the teaching and education of patients and families regarding care and procedures.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment by prioritizing patient care needs.
• Utilize appropriate techniques for patient transfer and mobility.

Required Experience

• 1 year of ICU experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• RN License in New Jersey - Required
• BLS - Required
• ACLS - Required
