Job Description

The Labor and Delivery unit at Riverside Community Hospital consists of 11 labor beds, 4 OB evaluation rooms, 2 OB PACU, and 2 ORs. The unit is staffed by a dedicated team of 79 professionals, including day and night charge nurses, staff nurses, and OB techs, maintaining a patient ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients or 1 RN to 1 patient.

Key responsibilities include managing labor, conducting cervical exams, and performing non-stress tests (NST). The unit utilizes GE fetal monitoring and is supported by electronic medical records systems CPN and Meditech. Familiarity with AWHONN fetal monitoring is essential, and couplet care is expected when floating to postpartum.

Responsibilities

• Manage labor and delivery processes for patients.
• Conduct cervical exams and monitor fetal status using GE fetal monitoring equipment.
• Titrate medications as needed during labor.
• Perform non-stress tests (NST) and assessment of maternal and fetal wellbeing.
• Assist in couplet care if floated to postpartum.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• AWHONN EFM
