Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care in the Telemetry Unit utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities include direct patient care, guiding patient and family education, and managing the activities of nursing personnel while adhering to established standards of care. The RN is accountable for the care given to assigned patients and must effectively communicate with physicians about changes in patients' clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring and diagnostic study results.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care in the Telemetry Unit.
- Perform patient assessments and implement care plans based on individual patient needs.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond quickly to changes in condition or treatment responses.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions and nursing care procedures.
- Direct and guide the activities of other nursing personnel.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure cohesive patient care.
Required Experience
- Current and valid RN license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross).
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience preferred.
- COVID-19 vaccination preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
