ARMStaffing is looking for a Radiologic Technologist, X-Ray (Evening Shift) in Rochester, New York.

Schedule/Shift

Sun - Thurs, 5x8s, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM. Evening on-call and holidays as needed. Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts, with 2-3 on-call shifts per month.

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for verifying patient identity and reviewing physician orders prior to conducting x-ray procedures. You will operate x-ray equipment to capture radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as instructed by the physician, while ensuring patient safety by minimizing radiation exposure. You will explain procedures to patients, address their concerns, and position them appropriately, which may involve assisting patients with limited mobility.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and review physician orders before conducting x-ray procedures.
• Utilize x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images for radiologists' interpretation.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any questions.
• Position patients appropriately for imaging, including lifting and assisting those with mobility challenges.
• Monitor patient status and adapt procedures to meet their age-specific needs.
• Ensure safe handling of radiologic equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate records and verify patient information in the electronic system.
• Adhere to dual patient identifier procedures to ensure accurate imaging and patient information documentation.

Required Experience

• Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Active certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• NYS license or ability to obtain one prior to starting.
• Two years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
• Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must have recent OR experience using c-arm/o-arm.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
