Shifts are 3x12 hours with variable scheduling. Weekend work is required.

Job Description

This position is in an Acute Care Medical Center, which serves as a Level IV Trauma Center. The facility is a Critical Access Hospital with a total of 46 staffed beds in acute care and 22 beds in long-term care. You will be caring for various patient populations including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics, with a daily census of roughly 10 patients. The primary documentation system used is Epic.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the emergency department setting.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring ventilatory support and continuous IV sedation.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including administration of procedural sedation.
• Manage phlebotomy and the starting and maintenance of IVs.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Charge experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• A valid compact state nursing license must be active upon submission.
