Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the MSU/PCU will be responsible for the assessment and management of a diverse patient population. This role requires flexibility to work across various departments within the unit as needed. The nurse will provide education to patients and their families, ensuring that all educational modalities are utilized effectively for enhanced patient understanding. Safety measures must be identified and implemented to protect patient wellbeing, including adherence to restraint policies and equipment safety protocols. Compliance with infection control and documentation policies is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assess and address patients' educational needs using appropriate modalities.
• Implement preventative safety measures in the care of patients.
• Demonstrate safe equipment operation and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Follow infection control guidelines and utilize standard precautions consistently.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient status and nursing interventions.
• Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members and provide thorough shift reports.
• Manage and restock emergency carts and other supplies as necessary.

Required Experience

• Active RN license in Washington State.
• Experience in MSU/PCU settings and flexibility across departments.

Certifications/Licensure

Active Washington State RN license required.
