ARMStaffing is looking for a Certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room (Evening Shift) in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

5 days per week, 8 hours per day (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM). Weekend and on-call requirements are included.

Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technologist performs a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. The role involves preparing patients' skin for surgery according to hospital standards, maintaining aseptic techniques, and providing comfort and support to pre-operative patients. You will transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite and position patients according to the type of surgery scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical duties related to direct patient care under the direction of a professional nurse in the Operating Room.
• Establish and maintain the sterile field, pass instruments, and assist the physician as directed.
• Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
• Monitor and ensure aseptic practices are maintained throughout the procedure.
• Use the physician preference cards to ensure the Operating Room set up is accurate and up to date.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of surgical supplies and instruments.
• Maintain a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices.
• Adapt patient care methods to meet the unique needs of patients served in the department.

Required Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with completion of a Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program. 2 or more years of experience in a surgical setting is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS certification via AHA required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License is required.
