ARMStaffing is looking for a Certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room (Evening Shift) in Portland, Maine.

Schedule/Shift

The schedule consists of 12-hour evening shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, with a guarantee of 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage is required at a ratio of 1:4 weekends.

Job Description

This role is within the Operating Room department, which handles a varied surgical patient population. As a Certified Surgical Technologist, you will support surgical teams during procedures by preparing operating rooms, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a sterile environment. The unit is equipped with Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot systems and utilizes Epic as its EMR system. Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Assist in maintaining a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other surgical team members.
• Handle instruments and equipment proficiently during surgeries to support the surgical team.
• Participate in one overnight on-call shift for Trauma cases when assigned to a specialty team.

Required Experience

At least 2 years of experience in a surgical technologist role, preferably in an operating room setting with trauma exposure.

Certifications/Licensure

Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required for this position.
