Night shift, 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), guaranteed 36 hours weekly.

Job Description

Join a 38-bed unit at Grady Memorial Hospital, providing care to adult patients over the age of 65. You will manage common diagnoses including trauma, falls, fractures, and motor vehicle collision-related trauma. The role involves administering Heparin drips and all acute medications as ordered while focusing on hospital-acquired delirium prevention, early mobility, HAPI (hospital-acquired pressure injury) prevention, and falls prevention.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting.
• Monitor and administer medication, including Heparin drips, as per physician orders.
• Implement prevention strategies for hospital-acquired delirium and falls.
• Facilitate early mobility initiatives for patients.
• Engage with families to ensure communication and involvement in care plans.
• Utilize specialty equipment, such as gait belts and geriatric chairs, as needed.

Required Experience

• Documented experience in medical telemetry or similar settings.
• Experience in geriatrics, trauma, and orthopedic trauma is essential.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
