Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:00 - 06:30), with weekend responsibilities averaging every other week, potentially exceeding to meet unit needs.
Job Description
The NICU provides specialized care for neonates and infants, with a focus on high-risk deliveries and conditions such as prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, and neonatal sepsis. The position involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and requires proficiency in critical care procedures including arterial line management, phototherapy, and management of complex cases.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a Level III NICU setting.
- Administer medications, including anti-seizure and intravenous vasopressors.
- Perform assessments and interventions for high-risk neonates and infants.
- Support breastfeeding and milk handling practices.
- Engage in patient and family education regarding care protocols.
- Collaborate with medical and interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- At least 1 year of experience in a NICU setting.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BCLS and NRP certifications required; PALS certification preferred.
- Active RN license, with compact license acceptable.
