ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Operating Room (Day Shift) in Odessa, Texas.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

7:00 AM - 3:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch; end times may vary based on procedures. Call requirements are 6 - 8 days per month.

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the care of patients in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other personnel to provide patient care according to state Nurse Practice Acts, AORN, regulatory standards, physician orders, and hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
• Maintaining timeliness of surgical cases.
• Communicating with families regarding patient care.
• Updating physician preference cards.
• Scrubbing and assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Supervising personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience

Candidates must possess at least 2 years of experience along with prior travel experience in the operating room setting. Local candidates will not be accepted.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current PALS certification.
