The position requires 3x12 hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:00 with weekend coverage required.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Trauma ICU will provide high-quality patient care for critically ill and injured patients. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. The nurse will be expected to work with various medical equipment, including ventilators, manage IV sedation, and care for complex wound care cases.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity environment.
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs.
- Implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
Required Experience
- 2 years of recent ICU or critical care experience required.
- Experience with trauma care and critical interventions preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license in the state of California.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred.
