The schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts, with weekends as scheduled. Every other weekend is required, and holiday rotation may apply.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a focus on various common diagnoses, including pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status (AMS), GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and falls/weakness. This position requires monitoring patients, collaborating with a healthcare team, and ensuring high-quality care in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness and side effects.
• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments for patients.
• Titrate intravenous drips as necessary, excluding cardiac drips.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient care activities in the electronic health record (EPIC).
• Assist with patient hygiene, feeding, and mobility as needed, supported by nursing aids or patient care techs.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care and treatment options.
• Participate in orientation and training for new staff and support the unit's educational initiatives.

Required Experience

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is required. First time travelers are accepted.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• CNA or completion of Patient Care Technician (PCT) class may be accepted for support roles.
