Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist uses advanced imaging technology to produce detailed cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues. This role requires the ability to interpret physician scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate CT scan equipment, and properly position patients for accurate imaging. Technologists should be in good health to manage physical challenges, including maneuvering equipment and assisting patients with limited mobility while adhering to safety protocols regarding radiation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal structures using CT scanners.
• Administer contrast materials to patients as needed.
• Operate and maintain CT scan equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly.
• Position patients accurately to capture optimal imaging.
• Follow safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure for patients and self.
• Assist with inpatient portable x-rays during the overnight shift.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current New York State (NYS) licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
• Certification for contrast injections as required for the role.
