Monday - Friday; 3pm - 11:30pm EST, on call/callback, holidays and occasional weekends.

Job Description

The CT Technologist will be responsible for confirming patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans, adhering to department policies for patient safety. The role includes coordinating with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging, preparing patients for scans, explaining procedures in a compassionate manner, and safely positioning patients, including those with limited mobility. Maintaining accurate patient records within the EPIC system and ensuring proper documentation of images to the PACS system are essential components of this position. The technologist must also maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and perform exam verification prior to scans.
• Coordinate with physicians for accurate diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare and educate patients on procedures to ease anxiety.
• Insert IVs when necessary for tests.
• Position patients safely to ensure comfort and safety.
• Document images and maintain patient records accurately in EPIC.
• Ensure images are transmitted correctly to the PACS system post-exam.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the scanning facility.

Required Experience

• Current registration as a Healthcare Provider in New York State with injection therapy certification.
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Two years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current New York State Radiologic Technologist license.
• ARRT certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Injection therapy certification preferred, must be willing to complete during orientation.
• Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment is preferred.
