Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00).

Job Description

The Medical-Surgical unit is a 34-bed facility that primarily cares for surgical patients including total joint replacements and general surgery cases, as well as medical patients needing telemetry. The unit employs a care delivery model featuring 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT for every 9 patients. This unit also has wall suction for patients requiring suction.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients on a Medical-Surgical unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor vital signs and telemetry readings for assigned patients.
• Coordinate with an interdisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Medical-Surgical setting.
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:9.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current New York RN license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
