12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM with call requirements.
Job Description
This role is focused on providing comprehensive nursing care for patients in critical condition, including those recovering from surgery, managing complications from cardiac catheterizations, respiratory failure, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), acute kidney injury (AKI), and unstable arrhythmias. The position requires a strong foundation in critical care nursing and the ability to adapt to various patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Initiate, titrate, and manage vasopressors, thrombolytics, antihypertensives, antidiabetics, and sedation.
- Oversee ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Monitor telemetry and interpret data.
- Implement sepsis management protocols.
- Manage central and arterial lines, as well as chest tubes.
- Administer blood products as needed.
- Utilize various medical equipment including infusion pumps, rapid infusers, bedside cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannulas.
Required Experience
Candidates must have a strong background in critical care nursing and experience with the management of complex medical conditions and equipment.
Certifications/Licensure
- Valid RN license.
- CPR and ACLS certifications required.
