Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will ensure the delivery of quality nursing care by following the nursing care plan. Responsibilities include supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, while maintaining a commitment to patient and employee safety throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, leading to an individualized care plan.
• Identify teaching needs related to patient diagnosis and collaborate with families and the interdisciplinary team for education.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in medical records.
• Engage in the patient's rehabilitation program and utilize the nursing process for effective care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate any changes in patient status to the healthcare team promptly.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel, fostering teamwork and a positive environment.
• Maintain a focus on safety in both personal and patient care environments.
• Participate in team-building and ensure effective supervisory practices.

Required Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift.
