Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Telemetry unit will provide specialized care for patients with cardiothoracic conditions and telemetry monitoring requirements. The nurse will manage various procedures and protocols, including but not limited to, administering blood products, managing central lines and chest tubes, and utilizing telemetry for patient monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings to assess patients' cardiac status.
- Provide care to patients with chest tubes and manage the associated equipment.
- Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately using Cerner.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
- Experience in a telemetry unit preferred.
- Charge experience is advantageous.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Active Pennsylvania RN license or a compact license required at submission.
