Schedule/Shift
12-hour rotating shifts with varied start times including 5 AM, 7 AM, 9 AM, 10 AM, and 11 AM. Requires working every other weekend and one major holiday.
Job Description
The Emergency Department at the facility is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join their team. This unit caters to a high volume of patients, with an average daily census of 190-200, ensuring an environment that demands quick critical thinking and strong nursing skills. The patient demographic primarily consists of elderly patients, and the facility emphasizes patient experience and nursing excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform triage for ambulance patients at bedside.
- Manage and oversee patient care including assessment, planning, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physician Assistants, Respiratory Therapists, and Swat teams for advanced lines.
- Utilize Epic for patient documentation and medication administration through Pyxis.
Required Experience
To qualify for this position, candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including 2 years specifically in emergency nursing, and at least 1-2 travel assignments or significant Emergency Department experience.
Certifications/Licensure
- Required: California RN License, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) or ENPC, NIH Stroke Scale.
- Preferred: TNCC, CEN.
