Schedule/Shift

Shifts are 12 hours long with varied start times including 1p-1a, 3p-3a, 5p-5a, and 7p-7a. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend, and holiday requirements specify one major holiday.

Job Description

The Emergency Department at John Muir Medical Center Walnut Creek is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join their team. The unit specializes in providing care for patients with conditions such as STEMI, stroke, syncope, weakness, trauma, and falls. The department operates with a strong emphasis on teamwork and maintaining a high level of patient experience and nursing excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
• Conduct assessments, create care plans, and implement nursing interventions for emergency patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.
• Adhere to unit-specific protocols for procedures and documentation using Epic.
• Manage critical care situations requiring advanced decision-making and critical thinking skills.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
• At least 2 years of experience specifically in an Emergency Department.
• Prior travel experience is preferred, with a focus on candidates having strong ED experience.

Certifications/Licensure

• Required: California RN license, ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), BLS, NIHSS.
• Preferred: TNCC, CEN.
