Day shift, 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM; floating required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will provide care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process in compliance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical competencies, demonstrating critical thinking and scientific judgment, delegating patient care priorities, and providing direction to support personnel. The nurse will perform assessments, communicate findings, administer medications, monitor side effects, and ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
• Administer medications and monitor side effects.
• Demonstrate leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care.
• Delegate tasks based on the experience and education of the staff.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience required in an emergency nursing setting.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• ENPC and NRP certifications preferred.
