ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical (Night Shift) in Oakland, Maryland.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, with weekend shifts required every other week. Additional shifts may be available, and the manager is open to block scheduling preferences.

Job Description

The Med-Surg unit is currently operating with 20 beds and a maximum nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1. This unit sees a wide range of diagnoses including congestive heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic conditions, detox patients, as well as post-operative surgical patients (excluding laboring moms). The staff includes both RNs and LPNs, and all members of the team are expected to have a strong Med-Surg background due to the diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients with various medical conditions.
• Monitor patient health and facilitate communication among team members.
• Document patient progress using the EPIC charting system.
• Participate in orientation and training facilitated by the education department.
• Float to other units as directed, assisting in various capacities.

Required Experience

Experience in a Med-Surg setting with strong clinical skills is required. Candidates should be comfortable working with a diverse patient population and able to adapt to various patient needs.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS and NIHSS certifications are required for all RNs and LPNs.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are recommended but not required.
