ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery (Night Shift) in Plainview, Texas.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

3 night shifts per week from 15:00 to 03:30 with weekend coverage required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule).

Job Description

This position provides Labor and Delivery care in a rural hospital setting. The Registered Nurse will manage labor patients and provide support in OB triage and outpatient care as needed, while striving to adhere to AWHONN guidelines. The nurse is expected to work independently, as only one Labor & Delivery nurse will be scheduled per shift. In situations where a single L&D nurse is staffed, a charge nurse will serve as L&D backup, or an on-call team member will be available for support. The nurse may be asked to assist with postpartum and nursery care when patient volumes and staffing needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Manage labor patients while providing care in OB triage and outpatient settings.
• Support high-risk deliveries and assist in C-section circulations and recoveries.
• Conduct sterile vaginal exams and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE guidelines.
• Perform placements and calibrations of intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC) when necessary.
• Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and manage anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license in hand (Compact license accepted).
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate certifications required.
