Schedule/Shift

Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours; Shift: 19:00 - 07:00; Rotating Weekends/As Needed.

Job Description

The position is located in the Emergency Department of a 250-bed academic community hospital, designated as the region's Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The Emergency Department has 31 beds and 2 Triage rooms, serving a diverse patient population including all ages. The facility utilizes MedHost for electronic health records, particularly in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Department setting.
• Assess and manage patient care, requiring rapid decision-making and prioritization.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Utilize appropriate medical equipment and adhere to hospital procedures.

Required Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license in Virginia.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• Handle with Care certification (available on-site).
