Day Shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory services as prescribed. This role includes evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients upon discharge. The Respiratory Therapist will operate various types of ventilatory equipment, deliver treatments through oxygen and aerosol devices, and perform necessary physiotherapy for secretion clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments utilizing ventilatory, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning as required by patient needs.
• Monitor and assess patients using oximetry and capnography.
• Review patient chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies to evaluate needs.
• Assist with procedures related to respiratory care as permitted by policy.
• Communicate with medical staff regarding the effectiveness of therapy and report essential information during shifts.
• Maintain accurate documentation of respiratory therapy processes and patient responses.

Required Experience

• Active Respiratory Care license required.
• Experience in a clinical respiratory therapist role preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is preferred.
