Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, performing intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. This position involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and explaining procedures to patients. The therapist will operate various ventilatory and oxygen equipment, administer medications, conduct chest physiotherapy, perform suctioning, and monitor oxygen levels. Additionally, the role includes performing pulmonary function studies and assisting with procedures related to respiratory care, such as bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans, ensuring informed consent and understanding of procedures.
• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments, operating various ventilatory, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods as needed.
• Monitor patients through oximetry and capnography, and review chest x-rays for further evaluation.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures, including bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Perform CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Document treatment outcomes and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.
• Ensure accurate charging and data entry for respiratory therapy services.

Required Experience

Current and valid Respiratory Therapy license, along with relevant clinical experience in respiratory care.

Certifications/Licensure

Must hold BLS and ACLS certifications. Additional certifications in respiratory therapy procedures are preferred.
