ARMStaffing is looking for a Radiation Therapist in Reading, Pennsylvania.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

8-hour Day Shift, Monday through Friday, with hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Occasional holiday call coverage may be required.

Job Description

The Radiation Therapist will administer radiation treatments according to prescriptions from the radiation oncologist. Responsibilities include obtaining images for planning and targeting, assessing patient conditions prior to simulation and treatment, and providing ongoing education to patients throughout their treatment course. When assigned to CT simulation, the therapist will create immobilization and treatment aid devices, operate a CT scanner and MED RAD power injector for IV contrast, obtain, and analyze cross-sectional imaging for treatment planning, and perform blood draws as indicated.

Responsibilities

• Administer radiation treatments in accordance with oncologist prescriptions.
• Obtain images for proper planning and targeting of treatment.
• Assess patient condition before simulation and treatment.
• Provide ongoing patient education throughout treatment.
• Create immobilization and treatment aid devices when performing CT simulations.
• Operate CT scanners and MED RAD power injector for IV contrast.
• Obtain and analyze cross-sectional imaging for treatment planning.
• Perform blood draws as needed.

Required Experience

ARRT (T) certification is required. BLS certification from AHA is mandatory. Experience with Varian systems is preferred. New graduates will be considered.

Certifications/Licensure

• PA state license (Credentialing requirements include PA Fingerprints and PA Child Abuse clearance)
