Job Description

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at HCA HealthONE Rose is a Level 3 unit equipped for advanced neonatal care. We provide care for critically ill newborns, supporting high-acuity cases and high-risk deliveries. The unit consists of 24 licensed spots with an experienced staff of 41, including RNs and charge nurses without nursing aids. Night shift staffing is calculated based on patient acuity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level 3 NICU setting.
• Assist with procedures including intubations, chest tube placements, and blood draws.
• Administer medications, IVs, and blood transfusions.
• Monitor vital signs and facilitate handoff communications to ensure continuity of care.
• Utilize telemedicine and other advanced equipment to support patient health.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital experience in a NICU setting.
• BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Experience in a Level III or IV NICU preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
