Job Description
The Emergency Department at ER 24/7 Rockport is a fast-paced unit equipped with 6 rooms and 4 vertical beds, providing critical emergency care. The unit employs 10 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members and 4 PRN staff, ensuring a robust team for patient care.
As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will be responsible for performing essential procedures including IV blood draws, EKGs, Foley catheter placements, and wound care. The department is equipped with vital sign machines, BIPAP, ventilators, nebulizers, ortho glass, and AEDs, utilizing the MEDITECH electronic medical record system.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Carry out procedures such as IV blood draws, EKGs, and wound care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR (MEDITECH).
- Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Ensure adherence to policies and guidelines of the unit.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions and respond to changes.
Required Experience
- Experience in a freestanding emergency department or similar emergency care setting preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Must have current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Active RN license is required.
