ARMStaffing is looking for a Medical Technologist, Laboratory (Day Shift) in Lincoln, Maine.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

3-12 hour shifts (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) with rotating weekends, typically every 5th weekend. Fill in for Thursday night shifts and pick up vacancies if not filled with regular staff. Will work holidays as needed on a rotating basis.

Job Description

The Medical Technologist will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures necessary for patient diagnosis and treatment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in microbiology, including gram stains, culturing, and blood cultures, along with blood bank testing. Adherence to Covid regulations, including the use of PPE and isolation protocols, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and procedures efficiently and accurately.
• Conduct microbiological analyses, including gram stains and culture planting.
• Handle blood cultures and perform necessary blood bank testing.
• Ensure compliance with Covid regulations and infection control standards.
• Document laboratory results according to established protocols.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding test results and patient care.

Required Experience

• Graduation from an approved Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Technician program.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is preferred.
