Schedule/Shift
Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with two 10-hour weekend shifts every 8-9 weekends and a 30-minute response time while on call.
Job Description
The Pre-Op unit at Wesley Medical Center provides care for outpatient surgical patients, including those in Urology, GYN, and various other specialties. The unit features 9 pre-op beds and 5 Phase 2 recovery beds, supported by a team of dedicated nursing professionals. The role involves preparing patients for their procedures, monitoring them post-op, and providing a high level of communication and care during their stay.
Responsibilities
- Assessing the patient's condition and readiness for surgery
- Administering medications and IV fluids as per protocol
- Monitoring patient vitals and comfort levels
- Coordinating with surgical and anesthesia teams
- Documenting patient care in the Meditech EMR system
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of current acute care Pre-Op RN hospital experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications
Certifications/Licensure
- Active RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required
