Night Shift: 3x12 hours, from 19:00 to 07:00.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, offering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. The role involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and ensuring that patients understand the purpose and procedures involved in their treatment.

Responsibilities

• Perform physician-prescribed treatment using ventilatory equipment, oxygen devices, and nebulizers.
• Conduct chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods.
• Monitor patient vitals through oximetry and capnography.
• Review patient chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory procedures including bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Provide tracheostomy care and perform arterial punctures as necessary.
• Execute cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Document all treatments and patient responses accurately.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding treatment efficiency.

Required Experience

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in the applicable state.
• Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
