Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with every other weekend commitment (Saturday and Sunday) and flexible weekdays.

Job Description

The Medical-Surgical unit at Tristar Southern Hills Medical Center includes 25 beds and provides care to patients with a variety of medical needs. The unit operates with a patient ratio of 5-6:1 during the day and 6:1 at night. The availability of equipment includes Sara Steady, Wound Vac, Tele Health, Virtual Sitter equipment, and remote telemetry, ensuring comprehensive patient support. Documentation is managed through the Meditech system.

Responsibilities

• Perform strong patient assessments and deliver safe and effective nursing care.
• Manage IV pumps and utilize Pyxis medication dispensing cabinets for medication administration.
• Execute procedures including IV and foley catheter placements.
• Engage in hourly rounding and contribute to positive patient experiences (BSSR).
• Float to Medical-Surgical units as needed.

Required Experience

Candidates must demonstrate strong assessment skills and have prior experience with IV pumps and medication dispensing systems.

Certifications/Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications are preferred.
