07:00-19:00, 12-hour Day shifts, with rotating weekends as needed.
Job Description
The unit consists of 8 inpatient beds and an admission unit that can flex up to 12 beds depending on the hospital census. Nurses are responsible for providing high-quality care to medical-surgical patients, utilizing standard nursing skills such as IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, central line maintenance, and medication administration. Effective communication with the care team and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) are also crucial components of the role.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for 4-6 patients at a time, ensuring a maximum patient ratio of 6:1.
- Perform standard nursing procedures including IV insertions, catheter insertions, and medication administration.
- Maintain central line and collaborate with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document care activities and patient status in the EHR accurately and timely.
Required Experience
- Must have at least 1 year of acute medical-surgical experience within the last year.
- Able to demonstrate competency in managing multiple patients effectively.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license is required.
