Day shift, 12 hours, from 07:00 to 19:00, 3 days per week.

Job Description

This position is for a 38-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, primarily serving adults over the age of 65. Patients typically present with diagnoses such as trauma, falls, fractures, and motor vehicle collisions. The RN will administer heparin drips and other acute medications as ordered and will be expected to lead initiatives for hospital-acquired delirium prevention, early mobility, and prevention of hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI) and falls. Effective family communication and involvement are crucial in the care process.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a surgical acute care environment.
• Manage medication administration and monitor patients on heparin drips.
• Implement fall prevention strategies and ensure early mobility for patients.
• Engage families in the care process, providing updates and support.
• Utilize specialty equipment, including gait belts and geriatric chairs, in patient care.

Required Experience

Candidates must have documented experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing. Previous experience working with geriatric and trauma patients is essential.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Active RN license compliant with the state requirements.
