ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Intermediate Care Unit (Day Shift) in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Schedule/Shift

Shifts are 12 hours, running from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Staff are required to work weekends as scheduled, with day shift considerations.

Job Description

Join the Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) with a total of 30 beds (14 private and 16 semi-private). The IMU focuses on patients experiencing chest pain, rule out myocardial infarction (r/o MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), arrhythmias, post-pacer care, and pre/post cardiac catheterizations. The unit emphasizes managing patient recovery while providing quality care and monitoring. Electronic health records are maintained using the EPIC system.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in an intermediate care setting with a typical RN ratio of 1:5, occasionally 1:6.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips, with support from Tele Techs.
• Titrate intravenous drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, and Heparin.
• Collaborate closely with Hospitalists and Intensivists who are available 24/7.
• Manage respiratory care equipment, with Respiratory Therapy (RT) on-site 24/7.
• Participate in a floating rotation, potentially working in telemetry or medical-surgical settings.
• Assist with IV starts, supported by an in-house IV Team.

Required Experience

Experience in an intermediate care or stepdown unit is preferred, demonstrating the capability to manage patients with complex medical needs.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Active RN license
