ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (Night Shift) in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

3x12 Night Shift (19:30-08:00), every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as scheduled.

Job Description

This position is in a fast-paced, high-volume setting where care is provided for patients in the border between the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units. The average daily census includes 10 to 40 border patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, including complex ED admissions.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of practice for patients transitioning between emergency and medical-surgical care.
• Monitor patient conditions, document observations, and intervene when necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and provide education to patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
• Assist in the management of patients with complex admission diagnoses.
• Float between ED borders and other units as required.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with prior charge experience preferred.
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:6.
• Previous travel experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications are required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
